I’ve finally decided, now that I have the necessary equipment that I need, to begin putting up my own videos on YouTube.
My first video is a cover of a song called “Breathing Underwater” by Hiatus Kaiyote. This song is very special to me because their lead singer wrote it as a tribute to Stevie Wonder, who she grew up listening to. Since Stevie Wonder is also a huge inspiration of mine, it was interesting to draw aspects of his music from this song. It is also a very musically complex song and was difficult to learn, but I look forward to learning more Hiatus Kaiyote tunes. Her voice is captivating and she sings like she is playing an instrument. I can’t wait to find out what this band will do next.
